The surface beneath and around playgrounds structures must be covered with safety mats to attenuate impact according to the safety standard EVS-EN 1176:2008 applicable in Estonia. The cast EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Modified) safety surfacing is designed for use on playgrounds and sports grounds to attenuate impacts and minimise the risk of personal injury to children.
The EPDM granulated surfacing conforms to the safety standard for playground surfacing - EVS-EN 1177:2008 - and has been TÜV certified accordingly.
The cast coloured rubber granules allow designing a variety of multicolour safety mats.
